Salary      : £21,600 – £36,000 annually (pro rata depending on hours & experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-driven Finance Assistant (Part-Time) to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial administration. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain practical finance experience while pursuing their studies or other commitments.

You will assist with transactional entries, reporting tasks, reconciliations and internal documentation, working with the finance team during month-end processes. Strong performers may be offered full-time employment after demonstrating competence and readiness.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, purchase orders, bills and payment runs
  • Support bookkeeping entries and transaction categorisation
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end reporting tasks
  • Maintain expense records and petty cash logs
  • Prepare spreadsheets, summaries and basic financial reports
  • Assist with credit control and supplier/client communication
  • Maintain internal filing and finance documentation
  • Support senior finance staff with general administrative tasks

 

Ideal Candidate

  • Studying or recently graduated in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or similar field
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUPs, PivotTables desirable)
  • High level of accuracy when working with numbers and data entry
  • Strong communication skills and professional phone/email manner
  • Exposure to or familiarity with Sage, Xero or QuickBooks is beneficial
  • Must have basic knowledge of UK financial regulations and an understanding of why accuracy, compliance and record-keeping are important within finance roles
  • Interest in progressing into ACCA/ACA/CIMA training is advantageous
